Among Common Things
Woke up with a sore head and a text message ordering me to do something. now that is done i am fully awake and deeply regretting last night. however upon second reflection i have decided last night was indeed worth it but today @ work i will cop it.
well whats happening right now is this facebook application game featuring a cyanide & happiness dude. and i can't explain to you how ridiculously funny some of the responses are. check out the facebook application here.
what i will be sharing with you guys this morning is an irish american punk band named 'dropkick murphys'. a lot of you will be familiar with these guys but many aren't. id love to see a greater range of irish punk bands because as by example, these produce some awesome material. check out dropkick murphys live @ the lettermen performing 'shipping up to boston'. to those lucky bastards who caught them @ no sleep til perth i salute you.
have a great day.

Ahhhh!
i love 90s punk music. typically just anything with grunge guitars which are loud and drums which have industrial sounding cymbals. gives me a fucking boner! do your ears a treat by listening to some old school rage against the machine, blink, placebo or weezer!

The Architects up-coming album, The Here And Now, will be released in Australia on the 28th of jan next year. if their trailer is anything to go by, it is going to be awesome. check out the trailer below.
The Rolling Stones & MTV have both done 'Top 30 Albums of the Year' with Kanye taking out both positions with his hit 'Power'. Check that out here.
If your fan of The Wombats, and their recent single , Tokyo, than you might like there acoustic version which they played on 'The 5:19 Show'. Watch it here. Just as a heads up - it's terrible.

What's also cool this week is B.o.B has promised to do a Collab with Paramore if he wins a grammy. he already has 5 nominations - let's pray! if b.o.b & hayley williams can cook up aeroplanes than i'm excited to see what the band as a whole can do.
Have a goodnight.

Dr Seuss eats Linkin Park at 78 Records
I had the best tuesday? Well, I know I did. But did you know? no you did not know. what the fuck am I talking about? I don't know! but anyway yesterday was awesome to say the least. had lunch with a friend, attempted to shop but only browsed and than in the last minute bought tickets to linkin park and watched them play.
had lunch at 'tiger tiger' in the city yesterday after much dispute of where to eat. i had a BLT with bacon, chicken and mayo. genevieve had a avocado sandwich? i won't make any comments about the place but the food looked and tasted like shit. as we were done i inconspicuously tried to forget paying the bill. fail.
as a kid at heart - the next place we went to was pretty much a 'fun factory', to me anyway. Dr Seuss exhibition anyone? me please! i'm not one of those 'enjoy a spectacle' type of people but this was different for me. i'd thought i would share the experience with you so i took some snaps for you to look at below.
A SAW FISH WITH SUCH A LONG SNOUT THAT HE NEEDS AN ASSISTANT TO HELP HIM ABOUT!
the day was well spent and the night was awesome. rocked up home with a raging headache and sore legs... the epitome of an awesome night that rocked my world.
anyway here is something to fuck with your mind:
Some of you may not know - i'am a huge vinyl buff. even though i lack in quantity of vinyls i own, i love them. as we wrecked through 78 records i found almost a truckload of vinyls i wanted to take home! but being pay-day and in the right mind set. i saved and didn't spend a cent. kinda wishing i did!
Yesterday I had to make a hard decision; Linking Park OR Aquabats & Reel Big Fish. Now I was originally just going to go to the Aquabats concert because it was $55 a ticket a capitol as opposed to LP's $145. i suppose i had already seen aquabats once this year and hadn't seen linkin park since 2007 so i believe it was money well spent. of course before the show, being at the burswood dome, i went to the casino. with $20 i made $350 - and than lost it all. i am NOT complaining! but seriously, elliot herne your friend is soooo dumb - i feel dumber listening to him!
the show was hectic. sleepwalker opened for linkin park - sleepwalker is a much heavier band than LP and for some reason i seemed to be the only one enjoying them. when linkin park entered the stage (no dramatic entrance unlike last time) the crowd when rowdy. the moshpit was swaying side to side and kids and girlfriends were getting trampled. let me just say this; if your bringing your girlfriend and kids to a concert, especially one with heavier music, and you don't buy seat tickets - you sir, are a fucking idiot. don't go mad at everyone because your being pushed and shoved... IT'S A MOSHPIT! i seriously cannot believe how many kids were in the mosh. hey man i don't mind kids going crazy, thats fine, but if your going to complain and get angry at moshers.... than that's just silly. also what i fucking hate is fat guys with their shirts off... this guy had an ego way above his head. had tattoo's replicated off of Chester Bennington, had his shirt off and everytime chester spoke would raise his arms in the air and smell the fucking place out. this guy literally had a 50m radius of space around him. no-one wanted to get close. it wasn't even funny - it was fucked.
the day was well spent and the night was awesome. rocked up home with a raging headache and sore legs... the epitome of an awesome night that rocked my world.
anyway here is something to fuck with your mind:
"never odd or even" spelled backwards is "never odd or even"
and i thought "race car" was a nifty palindrome.

People Getting Bottled @ Stereosonic
and this would be the only reason i would buy a ticket to go to stereosonic - to bottle attention seeking lunatics. i find it ironic how small people at festivals complain that they can't see but than they go and jump on some twits shoulders only to block out a dozen or more peoples views. i believe a fair trade for this is a good bottling. just as how i believe if you crowd surf the payment is the loss of your shoes. if you block my view at a music festival - i'm going to project something at you. but what's worse than this is fucking idiots climbing up scaffolding dancing like they're rick ashton. get the fuck off.
a job well done is in order for the two tools that lasted up there for some time. the fail-whale at the end there should be banned from music festivals for life for trying to be in with the trend by jumping on the scaffolding nearly taking it all down and killing thousands of innocent punters. women ruin everything.
i think that's me done for the night. i'll write some more verbal shit tomorrow.

A Letter From Ben
was going through some old emails and found an email sent to me awhile back from my brother ben in Queensland. it contained pictures that my mother had sent to my brother of us when we were kids, and of course, when the family were still together. relying on memory the first picture was thomas' birthday, the second was christmas eve at Cottesloe and the third was in Thailand. bowl hair cuts - dope.

Gangsters & Thugs
niamh had her academy performance yesterday - the storyline was based around her being some big mafia dudes daughter and that she was the victim in being kidnapped in ransom for some money from the big mafia dude. i love gangster & thug films so this was no exception. i had a ball. below are some pictures i took on the night.

Sally Pick-up Your Glasses
Hi there friends. just a little public announcement to Sally Newman - pick up your fucking glasses. for those who don't know what i am talking about a few weeks back sean & i had a pool party in an attempt to rid of the brewed beers in the fridge... what was left at the scene was these glasses, which belong to sally.
among other things around the house was my wallet which just happens to be coincidently sitting on my laptop. a friend gave this to me as a present a few months ago - you can pick up these 'mighty wallets' from pigeonhole for like $30. you cannot tare them and they're waterproof... pretty fucked up considering they're made up of some sort of paper material. i think they're pretty awesome and i really do like the 1960s drawings. i've never been so hipster since.
my iphone calendar was buzzing this morning - 9 days until 'No Sleep Til Perth'. have i got my tickets? nope. i'm going to figure out how i'm going to get them, i'm sure they will sell at the door. for those that don't know me at all to well - i hate buying things (especially tickets) online. when i buy things i like to have it than and there. nothing is worse than waiting! opinion of course. this show is going to be awesome with bands such as atreyu, parkaway drive, 3 inches of blood and break even playing!
anyway for those who have noticed i have now added a little 'like' button feature at the top of every post for you to click. just let's me know how many of my friends are liking what i'm posting.
also massive props to friend drummer michael burn & the rest of the band, Village Kid, for winning the slot of being the opening act for when Bon Jovi come to perth on december 8th! this is an awesome achievement! watch below the performance which got them the slot.

What Day Is It?
This week has been a pretty rough one for me — just how i love it. complaining usually isn't me, but this week is the only exception. working everyday for 8 or more hours isn't pleasant, especially for someone who is use to staying at home all day and going out taking pictures! maybe it's the fact i work all through the night and get no day time or maybe it's the fact that tomorrow i have a 14 hour shift and that i am here right now blogging when i should be sleeping! well fuck it!
During the week I work at a very classy restaurant, Perth's premier steak house — The Old Swan Brewery. I'am a bartender & waiter there and enjoy it very much, the hours can be hectic and the schedules for shifts can be awkward but there are some awesome people there so I enjoy it.
Above is Mark, aka. the beer guy because he brews the beers, in the middle is chef, greg farnan, absolute top bloke and the best chef i know! and on the right is some dude. the legendary tomahawk steak shown above is by far the best thing i've ever put in my mouth (no pun intended) and weighs a massive 2.7 kg! you can buy the tomahawk at $13.50 per 100grams, so just calculate how much 2.7 kg will set you back! the tomahawk comes out with the mammoth bone attached and the chef comes out and carves it up in front of your eyes — it serves 3-4 people.
now that i'm done boasting about where i work and how awesome i am i will give you good people a heads up on some tunes which are new and old but i'm loving right now.
*INDIE ALERT: New tunes which are NOT mainstream. OH-MY-GOD INDIE ORGASM*
A new Social Distortion track off their upcoming album Hard Times And Nursery Rhymes can be heard here. if you love SD as much as i do than you will
so the other night i went via the city to mt lawley to have dinner and watch movies at a friends house. when i was going through the city i stopped to admire the christmas lights - this has always made me smile for some odd reason, kinda scary really. but anyway me being me the attention seeking whore i facebook'd it on my status (i might aswell of tweeted it too!) and got the usual lame response from miles.
the odd thing is - thats what i was exactly going to do. miles is a dickweed
miles was talking about - city lights... amazing. on an iphone camera... terrible.
for my old favourite tunes that i'm going to share with you i have placebo (for what it's worth) and the academy is... (classifieds) - i started listening to placebo after i heard one of their songs on a playstation game about a decade ago and the academy is i picked up from a friend who lent my his ipod about 4 years ago. have so much time for both these bands... placebo rocked the 2010 soundwave.
this week i'll be getting my camera back from canon as it was in need of a good service & repairing... i also have a new flash for the camera so pretty excited to use that (thanks mum!). as always thanks for checking out my photos and random shit i post up all the time. i do appreciate the recent positive feedback.
oh and the mustache has now gone. :{(
have a good day fuckface.
