A Good Flick

Couldn't tell you the name of this character if you were to ask me but credit is due to dudes like these where they just do the most inhuman things. this photograph was taken back when todd meyn had come to perth to visit and had invited me to take pictures of him and his friends. about half an hour ago todd emailed me back with responses from an interview I had conducted with him which will be featured in my next photography book. as I write this he is boarding an aeroplane for france to compete, good luck dude!

Black Fingernails

I'm told these are actually dark navy blue nails, that's a shame. below is a tiny poem Georgia shared with me in her personal book. some of the things she writes are quite remarkable and amazing.

She fell into the black abyss that was her mind. Its dark fingers suffocate her and drag her down. They reach down her throat and claw at her heart. Until her very soul bleeds rose red - Georgia MacLeod.

Kings Street

Shot on the corner of King and Hay St. was meant to be having lunch with georgia but she bailed on me as I was on my way into the city to see her so ended up taking photographs around the city as well as having lunch and buying a book on rock 'n' roll photography. but that's okay, georgia has promised to re-imburst me with her famous massage techniques, dinner and fine beers and brews.

Todd Meyn

My mate Todd Meyn has just put out a new edit of him freestyling. I took todds' photograph back in february when he came back to AUS to spend some time with family and friends. todd rides for nike 6.0 all the way out in Greenville, North Carolina. in his new edit he is busting out plenty of tail-whips, 1080s , flaires and back-flips. check that out below and whilst your at it the photographs I took of todd in february here.

Georgia Macleod

It has been bucketing down for the last 8 or so hours today so Georgia and myself took advantage of this by dusting off the umbrella and getting some photographs with it. These are two photographs I took just moments before risking my camera to the rain.

Two Photographs

Just made a start today on my newest publication and was adjusting photographs that would work well with the publication. these are two black & white photographs that were originally colour but the colours lacked vibrance and interest so just removed them all together. I hope to have this thing ready sometime next month, time will tell. also if you haven't noticed this blog is now a registered domain so you can just type in 'www.maxfairclough.com', all very cool. below is alex shelnutt from a day to remember and friend alek hoolihan.

That's a Familiar Face

Just finished doing the pain-staking process of transferring all my card dump photographs onto my hard-drive when I scrolled through this photograph I took of Claire when we use to date. now usually I would do the whole forgive & forget thing and wouldn't post a photograph of my ex anywhere but seeing as we left on good terms, and no-one has seen this photograph, and I somewhat like the composition, this can be put right here. oh and I suppose I'll let you readers in on a little secret to start the week, I'm seeing someone at the moment so I'm pretty content with life. have a good day and if you haven't liked my facebook page yet do so by clicking here!

Time Stands Still

Took this photograph when I was out and about with Georgia on thursday. was going through photos before deleting them off my computer and decided on second review that I liked this photo. would of been nice if that building in the background wasn't there so there was more contrast but I suppose you get what your given.

Universal Bar

I'm always down at Universal Bar on wednesday nights to photograph their fine staff and customers however this week they required me to come down on a friday night to enjoy some drinks, social activities and of course to get amongst the crowd and take their pictures. was a lot of fun as always and everyone is always so cheerful! nothing beats $10 cocktails... unless your me and they're free! ha ha.

Georgia Macleod

Georgia and myself have been meaning to hang out for a while now and when it came to actually organising it we came to the conclusion of wanting to do something a little different and adventurous. so at exactly at 9:13 am in the shivering cold we met up at the fremantle platform in the city train station before making the quick trip for the old abandoned power station located in south fremantle. upon arrival of the power station we explored the basement of the station and lurked the tunnels and among other things such as making animal noises and howling wolves before settling down on the second floor over looking the oceanic view smashing down champagne and smirnoff.  a pretty good day. and if I can highlight one thing that I learnt today it is that champagne bottles do not break when thrown at a wall at tremendous speeds.

A Day To Remember

Had a photo shoot with Lauren Arthur today in mt lawley - walked past the astor theatre where a day to remember were due to be playing that night. ran into the boys of ADTR and grabbed a head shot of Alex Shelnutt (drummer) as we were passing by. the show was amazing and my head is aching.

Lauren Arthur

Lauren Arthur is a new friend of mine. I approached her last week about doing a shoot for me and she gladly accepted. due to being disorganised we both had to cancel on the day but then rescheduled to do the shoot the following week. the following week we both met in the city and made our way into mount lawley where we would let the magic happen. whilst doing the shoot we ran into american punk hardcore band 'a day to remember' and grabbed a photo with them (pictures above). really enjoyed this shoot.

The Sunday Times

Joel Hinton from Captain of the Ship asked me a few weeks back to shoot a couple of pictures in his shop as he had been selected by The Sunday Times to have his business exposed in the "Hot Spots" section of the paper. that paper went to print last night and was on our door steps this morning.
