Amateur Mistake

It's without a doubt that photography without a lens hood is risky business when wanting to shoot nice shots as you run the risk of getting lens flare in your photographs, especially when shooting into the sun. however today I didn't plan to be shooting into the sun and when I did get flare off my photographs I was quite surprised at the result. I thought these came out nice.

Prosh

Prosh is the annual satirical newspaper written, published and distributed by the students of the university of western australia. it offers a different spin on local and global issues to downright black comedy. thousands of students each year flock on the city and surrounding areas in ludicrous costumes selling the paper to unsuspecting perth public. all donations and profits from the paper go straight towards charity.

Ain't no uwa student but I know how this shit goes down. and yeah I did scrap the above blurb from their website. and the dude with the bunny ears in the last picture isn't part of prosh - he is fucking serious. go buy his mag!

We Are Faircloughs

This is my family photo taken at cottesloe beach in the mid/late 90s. the picture was taken with dads amazing canon film camera of which I don't know but it had a self-timer on it! my brother ben in the purple rashie holding some sort of floating device, i'm in the green repping the bowl cut, emma in the sunflower hat and thomas with the spade shoes followed by my mother and father.

City & Colour

Moments before we greeted him he ran into the toilets to do whatever he had to do. feeling a little uneasy following him we waited patiently. after he had finished his business we shook hands and had a small discussion before getting some things signed and leaving with a happy snap. city & colour play at the astor theatre tonight.

This is the rowing annual for trinity college that I teamed up with paul abrahams to design. I hadn't ever really used adobes in design before so this was quite a new task for me. a vast majority of the photography (including cover) is of my own work. 

I was contemplating for a moment the way I spelt bandanas. perhaps it was the fact that every time I looked at it I read it as bananas. or maybe it is bananas and I'm seeing so many bandanas I think it's right. i'm fucking lost. 

Keeping things fresh for me is important. I tend to steer shy of multiple posts of the same person but this week I have done nothing but stay around the same people so you really can't expect any new subjects from my shots. yesterday claire and I had lunch at nandos followed by a photoshoot of the winter stock that has just come in at captain of the ship which can seen here. enjoy the claire brodie photo wheel below...
